The Hans Merensky Golf Estate, which shares a boundary with the Kruger National Park, is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Bob Grimsdell. The course these days is unfortunately a shadow of its former self and despite the lack of proper upkeep, it offers a scenic walk and is still worth a round. In any event, the resident monkeys and warthogs will keep you well entertained. Watch out for the hippos and crocodiles in the water hazards! Visit www.hansmerensky.com for more information.
Learn about the origins of Amarula Liqueur at the Amarula Lapa. The processing plant where the Amarula journey begins is where fresh marula fruit are brought during the harvesting season for processing. The plant is open for tours from January to March but the Lapa itself is open all year round to give visitors the chance to experience Amarula at its source. Browse the Amarula shop for gifts and memorabilia and the Amarula cake in the coffee shop is a must! Visit www.amarula.co.za for more information.
